Gandhi Tribute in Amsterdam Brings Peace Advocates Together
Indian and Dutch participants came together in the Dutch capital for a commemoration of Gandhi’s legacy, bringing together the Gandhi Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around peace, non-violence and human dignity.
Taking place beside the Mahatma Gandhi monument on Amsterdam’s Churchilllaan, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. Discussions also explored future cooperation in educating young people about fundamental human rights.
The Church of Scientology’s support for human rights education is rooted in the humanitarian work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human rights.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s Human Rights representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, highlighted the importance of cooperation across different beliefs and backgrounds, stressing that knowledge of human rights can help younger generations contribute to peaceful societies.
